ÖZ:
Günümüzde iş sağlığı ve güvenliği alanında madde ve karışımların etiketlenmesi ve işaretlenmesi konusunda kabul edilmiş iki ayrı etiketleme sistemi bulunmaktadır (NFPA 704 ve HMIS). Kabul gören bu etiketleme sistemlerinin ortak özelliklerinden biri, aynı renk kodlarını kullanmaları sebebiyle anlaşılması ve uyum sağlanmasında kolaylık olmasıdır. Bu etiketleme sistemlerinin bir diğer ortak özelliği ise etiketlerde söz konusu madde veya karışımın sebep olabileceği zarar veya tehlikelerin derecelendirilmesinin sıfırdan dörde artarak ilerleyen ortak bir sistem ile yapılmasıdır. Bu bilgilerden hareketle mevcut araştırma, NFPA 704 ve HMIS etiketleme sistemlerinin eksikliklerini gideren, etiketleme ve işaretlemede uyum sağlanması kolay, diğer etiketleme sistemlerinin dezavantajlı özelliklerini ortadan kaldıran, sade ve anlaşılır yeni bir etiketleme ve işaretleme sistemi önerisinde bulunmayı hedeflemiştir. Ayrıca kartopu örnekleme yöntemi ile Kırklareli/Lüleburgaz ve Tekirdağ/Çorlu ilçelerinde istihdam edilmiş beşi çalışan, beşi uzman olmak üzere toplam on katılımcı ile derinlemesine görüşme gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre; ileri sürülen yeni etiketleme ve işaretleme sisteminin anlaşılır, kullanışlı, pratik ve uygun olarak değerlendirildiği görülmüştür.

ABSTRACT:
Today, there are two accepted labeling systems for labeling and marking substances and mixtures in the field of occupational health and safety (NFPA 704 ve HMIS). One of the common features of these accepted labeling systems is that they are easy to understand and adapt because they use the same color codes. Another common feature of these labeling systems is the rating of the harm or hazards that may be caused by the substance or mixture in the labels with a system that progresses increasingly from zero to four. Based on this information, the current research has proposed simple and understandable labeling and marking system that addresses the shortcomings of NFPA 704 and HMIS labeling systems. It is easy to adapt to labeling and marking, eliminates the disadvantaged features of other labeling systems. In addition, in-depth interviews were made with the participation of ten participants who were employed in Kırklareli/Lüleburgaz and Tekirdağ/Çorlu by the snowball sampling method. According to the results; It has been seen that the proposed new labeling and marking system is understandable, useful, practical and appropriate.
