ÖZ:
Dünyada yoksulluk sorununun incelenmesinin yaygınlaşması, yoksullar içinde yoksulluğu daha derin yaşayan grupların varlığına dikkat çekmiştir. Küresel ölçekte, gerek yoksulluğa gerekse kadın çalışmalarına ilişkin artan ilgiye paralel, yeni bir araştırma ve mücadele alanı olarak kadın yoksulluğu olgusu gündeme gelmiştir. Literatürde kadın yoksulluğunu açıklamaya yönelik birçok yaklaşım bulunmaktadır. Nicel yöntemlerin kadın yoksulluğunu incelemede yetersiz kalması ve sağlıklı bir çerçeve sunmaması, eğitime erişim ve işgücüne katılım gibi alanlarda toplumsal cinsiyet temelli eşitsizlikleri ön plana çıkarmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, kadın yoksulluğunun nicel ve nitel anlayışlar bakımından kavranması ve Türkiye’de kadın yoksulluğuna ilişkin mevcut durumun tüm kısıtlarıyla ve olanaklarıyla değerlendirilmesidir.

ABSTRACT:
The expansion on analysing the problem of poverty in the world have attracted attention to the existence of poorest groups among the poor. Parallel to the increase the global interest on poverty and in women’s studies, the problem of women poverty has been questioned as a newly-formed research field. There have been various approaches analysing women poverty in the current literature. The inadequency of quantitative methods in analysing women poverty and in forming a sound framework has featured gender-based inequalities in various fields such as access to eduction and participation in labour force. The aim of this study is to understand quantitative and qualitative insights of women's poverty and evaluate the current situation with regard to women's poverty in Turkey with its all limits and opportunities.
