ÖZ:
Yazı, yorgunluk ve tükenmişlik kavramlarının kapitalizmin gelişmesiyle ilişkisini sorgulamaktadır. Bu amaçla, öncelikle yorgunluk ve tükenmişliğin kavramsal incelemesi yapılarak, piyasa ekonomilerinin gelişimi ile yorgunluk arasında ki ilişkiler, tarihsel bir bakış açısıyla ele alınacak, bu bakımdan, özellikle için de yaşadığımız “küresel” dönemdeki gelişmelerin, yorgunluğun yaygınlaşmasında etkili olup olmadığı sorusuna yanıt aranacaktır. Yazının temel savı, yorgunluğun insan yaşamını kökün den etkileyen bir “hastalık” duruma gelmesinin, kapitalizmin gelişiminden ayrı düşünülmemesi gerektiğidir.

ABSTRACT:
The present paper attempts at understanding the relations between the notions of fatigue and burnout and the development of capitalism. With this aim, the paper focuses first on the conceptual issues inherent in the notions of fatigue and burnout, then the relations between the development of capitalism and the changes in the perception of the notion of fatigue from a historical perspective. In this regard, special emphasis will be given to the question of whether the developments in the “global” phase of capitalism have been contributing to the fact that fatigue and burnout have become widespread in this global phase of capitalism. Basic argument of the paper is that it is the development of capitalism itself that causes the facts of fatigue and burnout have become a “malaise” in our contemporary world.
