ÖZ:
Bu çalışmada yoksul kadınların durumlarını ortaya koyabilmek ve yoksulluk ile nasıl başa çıktıklarını Tokat ili özelinde inceleyebilmek amaçlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda, Tokat il merkezinde yoksul mahallelerde yaşayan 242 kadına kolayda örnekleme ve kartopu örneklem yöntemlerine göre anket yapılmıştır. Anket çalışmasında kadınların sosyo-demografik özelliklerini, ekonomik durumlarını, yoksulluk tanımlamalarını ve kendilerini nasıl değerlendirdiklerini ortaya koyacak toplamda 30 soru yöneltilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler SPSS 21.00 istatistik programı kullanılarak analiz edilerek değerlendirilmiş ve frekans (f), yüzde (%) yöntemi ile yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmada eğitim düzeyi düşüklüğünün düzgün işlere erişimi engellediği, kadını ev içi alanla sınırladığı ve mekansal yoksulluğa da yol açtığı belirlenmiştir. Çalışma aynı zamanda bir SWOT analizi içermekte ve yoksulluk araştırmalarına yol gösterici bir özellik taşımaktadır.

ABSTRACT:
In this study, it is aimed to be able to reveal the situation of poor women and to be able to examine how they cope with poverty in Tokat province. In this context, 242 women who live in poor neighborhoods in Tokat province were surveyed by random sampling methods and snowball sampling methods. In the questionnaire study, a total of 30 questions were asked about the socio-demographic characteristics of women, their economic status, poverty definition and how they assessed themselves. Data obtained from the study were analyzed by using the SPSS 21.00 statistical program and frequency (f) was interpreted by percentage (%) method. As a result of the research, it is revealed that the reason of poverty is the low education level. The low level of education also suggests that it hampers access to proper jobs, limits women to the domestic space and also causes spatial poverty. The study also includes a SWOT analysis and a guideline for poverty research.
